Fort Bend County Commissioners Prestage and McCoy Host Important Public Interest Meeting to Discuss County Updates

On Thursday, July 23, Fort Bend County Commissioners Grady Prestage (Precinct 2) and Dexter L. McCoy (Precinct 4) hosted a public interest meeting at the historic Fort Bend County Courthouse to provide updates on parks, mobility projects, and important issues impacting county government.

There were no official votes taken at the town hall style meeting, however, residents had the opportunity to share their thoughts, ask questions, and voice their concerns about the future of Fort Bend County.

Commissioners Prestage and McCoy also addressed the ongoing legal dispute involving Interim County Judge Daniel Wong and shared their concerns about the impact the situation could have on county operations and taxpayer interests.

Commissioners Prestage and McCoy publicly reiterated the legal guidance they received from Fort Bend County Attorney Bridgette Smith-Lawson that Wong is no longer authorized to act as County Judge, and that any actions taken with Wong continuing to preside could expose the county to unnecessary legal risks and potential liability.

The meeting highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and keeping residents informed as Fort Bend continues to grow.
