Get Out to Vote: Fort Bend’s Future Depends on Who Shows Up

Elections don’t just pick leaders. They pick what gets fixed first, what gets funded, and who gets heard. And in local races, a few hundred votes can swing outcomes. That means your vote isn’t symbolic — it’s operational.
This cycle, Fort Bend voters will cast ballots in the March 3, 2026 primary, with early voting Feb. 17–27, 2026.
Your vote matters as County offices affect your daily life in ways people rarely connect to a ballot:
• Property taxes & budgeting (how your dollars are managed)
• Flood mitigation & drainage (what gets built, where, and when)
• Courts & public safety (how cases move and what priorities are enforced)
• Growth & infrastructure (roads, development, and how fast the county keeps up)
Turnout is typically lower in primaries and because of that your vote carries more weight.
Three easy steps to vote
1. Make sure you’re registered
The voter registration deadline for the March primary is Feb. 2, 2026.
2. Vote early if you can
Early voting runs Feb. 17–27 — shorter lines, more flexibility, less stress.
3. Bring two people with you
The most powerful GOTV tool is still the oldest one: a personal ask. Text your family group chat. Call a neighbor. Offer a ride. Remind folks of the dates.
A message to Fort Bend residents…
If you care about taxes, schools, flooding, criminal justice, growth, or cost of living — don’t leave your future up to “whoever shows up.” Be the reason turnout moves.
Early Voting: Feb. 17–27, 2026
