Interim Fort Bend County Judge Daniel Wong is causing a stir as approximately 30 MINUTES BEFORE a 3-day holiday weekend was set to begin for Fort Bend County library employees, he sent an email canceling Juneteenth plans, stating that all library locations have to open on Saturday.

According to Fort Bend County library director, Roosevelt Weeks, he assumed the Library Advisory Board’s approval of the library calendar was sufficient for the closure, but was informed at the last second by the Legal department that any library closure must also receive approval from Commissioners Court. 

Is this fair to Fort Bend County District employees who had planned vacations and other activities?

Should the county judge have allowed this to happen and made the adjustment for the future?
